I remember being much younger and jumping on this newfangled internet world-wide-web thing, which connected us all through a “series of tubes”. Back then, I discovered NASA’s [Astronomy Picture of the Day](https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html?ref=leadfromthefront.ebmeridian.com), a curated image accompanied by a scientific explanation of the astronomical phenomenon behind it.

I was hooked. And I’m glad that it’s still running strong.

This week, APOD celebrates its [30th anniversary](https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap250616.html?ref=leadfromthefront.ebmeridian.com). It’s a great milestone for an awesome little slice of daily learning, inspiration, and zen.

If you’re a total space nerd like me, it should be on your daily list to check out. And, if you want to go back in the archive, there’s a [Random APOD Generator](https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/random%5Fapod.html?ref=leadfromthefront.ebmeridian.com) to help. Be warned, checking out some of the early images shows just how far astral photography, and digital photography in general, has come.
